12Ways_numbers-05Let’s see. December has barely started, but you’ve just realized that the big day is ONLY 3 WEEKS away!!!! Your list seems as long as Santa’s if you’re like most of us, but wait. He has all those elves. Not fair! Well, here to help us get a jump on this BIG LIST is Kyle Young of Multi-TaskingWoman.com. Don’t wait a minute longer; let’s start checking our lists and marking things off!

“One thing, of the many, I’ve learned about Christmas is there are always just a few items on my to-do-list that seem like major mountains that I can quite seem to make myself climb. One big one for me? Christmas cards! While I freely admit that I love to receive those family photos and chatty letters from family and friends far and wide, it’s just so darn hard to sit down and do my own.Every year, I say, ‘Next year, I’ll do my cards in October and have them sitting, stamped and ready to mail on the First of December.”

WOW! What a great WAY of Christmas – for next year! Because, once again there are 3 weeks to go and I sit card-less. What’s this multi-tasking woman to do? Well, here are my sanity-saving suggestions for not only tackling the card issue and marking one GIANT to-do off for another year, but also making your Holiday Greetings multi-task for you!

•  DO IT NOW! Don’t wait another day. Buy or order your cards this weekend and they’ll still get to everyone in time for Christmas! And when you choose, consider. Sending a gorgeous card like of these can be a gift itself to neighbors, distant friends, even your mail carrier. Spend a little more on the card to get something truly special and just think about all those cookie baskets you didn’t have to bake and deliver! (How much time did that free up?)

• TAKE IT EASY! Did you know that you can order your cards online upload your mailing list and have everything done for you! That’s right. You choose the card, the message and how you want to sign – upload a cute family photo – and that’s it! It’s like having those magical invisible Beauty and Beast castle servants at your beck and call – and all you did was sit at the keyboard drinking steaming hot cocoa (or maybe a glass of good red wine!)

- MAKE IT FUN! Okay, you’re still determined to do it the old fashioned way. Good for you, if that’s important to you, you have my blessings, and admiration. But don’t do it by yourself at midnight. Make it fun! Enlist the whole family to sign, seal and make ready for delivery. OR invite one of the girls to come over for coffee and bring HER cards to do at the same time. Get together, laugh, and share the load. Now that’s multi-tasking that works for me. How about you?

OR (and you notice that’s a big ‘or’.) Listen carefully now.

• DON’T SEND CHRISTMAS CARDS. Gasp! Yes, I did say that! Join me this year (along with several other friends of mine who shall remain nameless for now) and RELEASE YOURSELF from sending Christmas cards all together! I learned this from one of my favorite people when her kids were little and she was WAY too busy.

“I send Valentines, or St. Patrick’s Day, or even 4th of July cards for my annual touch-base,” she offered. “That way, I do it when I have time and can really enjoy connecting, not just slamming them together just to get them out the door before Santa comes.” Amen to that sister!

So make your oh-so-elegant cards double as gifts, or give yourself the gift of doing it in some other season. Just remember to choose what gives YOU the most Joy of the Season.

Me? Cupid and I will see you in February!

Meet Kyle.
